The History of Coastal Carolina OBGYN
Coastal Carolina OBGYN was founded in early 2004 by Drs. Barbara Bozeman and Dode Washington, both board-certified physicians and Fellows of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Focusing on the health of women of all ages, and specializing in OBGYN services, they concentrated on normal and high-risk pregnancy, gynecological surgery, laparoscopic surgery, family planning/counseling and menopause.
Within months of opening their first location, the practice and patient roster grew quickly. They outgrew their initial location and moved their practice to a new facility, sharing space with a family care physician.
Their expertise and experience served them well. Another move was imminent- this time to a building solely occupied by Coastal Carolina OBGYN and built with the women they serve in mind. From a welcoming waiting room adorned with the works of local artists, to well-equipped exam rooms with beautiful ceiling sky lights, 620 Singleton Ridge Road will be home for years to come.
In August of 2009, Dr. Barbara Bozeman announced her early retirement due to health issues. While she is missed by both her patients and colleagues, this difficult decision was made easier knowing that the group's mission will always remain at the forefront of the day-to-day operations at Coastal Carolina OBGYN. Dr. Bozeman passed away on July 17, 2011.
